Riot Games and PLAYBRAIN sign agreement for PLAYBRAIN becoming the tournament Operator for LJL and Japanese broadcast partner for International Tournaments

Riot Games, Inc. (Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President/CEO Yasushi Fujimoto) and PLAYBRAIN, Inc. (Shinagawa, Tokyo; CEO Michael Sheetal), have announced that Riot Games and PLAYBRAIN have signed agreements for PLAYBRAIN to become the operating partner of the League of Legends Japan League (LJL), the domestic esports competition for the PC online game “League of Legends”, as well as becoming the Japanese broadcast partner for the newly established APAC League, and all international tournaments.

PLAYBRAIN selected as LJL 2025 Season Operating Partner, APAC League and International Tournament broadcast partner.

From the 2025 season, Riot Games and PlayBrain have signed an agreement on assigning PLAYBRAIN as the tournament operation partner of the League of Legends Japan League (LJL) and for the production of Japanese language broadcasts for the newly established APAC League and League of Legends International Tournaments. PLAYBRAIN has been involved in the operation of LJL and Japanese-language broadcasts of international competitions from 2018 to 2023. PlayBrain will continue to make a significant contribution to the development and growth of the domestic competition scene while strengthening cooperation with each team and regional partners.

Details on the new APAC League and the LJL 2025 season are expected to be announced soon.
