PlayBrain announced as organizing partner for ePARA, an esports event for players with disabilities
PlayBrain announced today that it has become an organization partner for ePARA, an esports event and competition platform for players with disabilities based in Japan.
Believing that esports can help people with disabilities participate in society and find self fulfillment, ePARA was conceived as an esports tournament to support this mission. Initially launched in November 2019 with their first event, the ePARA organization is formed with members across diverse backgrounds, lead by its founder, Daiki Kato.
With recent dramatic global events, there is an increase in the prevalence of remote work and digital interactions. The skills practiced by ePARA event participants demonstrate that former limitations in a disabled person’s ability to participate in society, have been drastically reduced as digital lifestyles have evolved. Esports can be used as a platform to highlight this evolution and provide opportunities for disabled members of our society.
PlayBrain CEO, Mike Sheetal commented “PlayBrain wants to demonstrate that esports and gaming can play a meaningful role in society more than ever before. We are grateful for being able to contribute to the common goals of ePARA in empowering individuals in developing their skills and motivation through competitive gaming. As a company in the games industry, we are pleased to have the opportunity to have our work extend outside our industry and play a positive role in the broader society.”

Through organizing esports events where players compete together regardless of disabilities, ePARA aims to create an environment where people with disabilities can find self fulfilment in society and work.
